The Adderley School for the Performing Arts, Santa Barbara’s premiere after school theatre program for children ages 3-17 years, has created an advanced troupe of teenage actors – The Santa Barbara Youth Ensemble Theatre! Students range in age from 11-15 years old and represent the entire Santa Barbara Community from Carpinteria to Goleta!

Led by renowned acting and vocal coach, Janet Adderley, 18 of Santa Barbara’s finest teens will appear in 4 performances of Stephen Sondheim’s brilliantly engaging musical “Into The Woods.” This 1988 Tony Award winning musical has moving and profound score by Stephen Sounheim, and a powerful, witty book by James Lapine. Into The Woods is a magical, imaginative adventure that leads the audience on an amazing journey of self-discovery. As the intricate, absorbing plot unfolds, a childless baker and his wife, cursed by a wicked witch, go off into the woods in hopes of ridding themselves of her evil spell. In the woods they encounter Cinderella, her Prince, Little Red Ridinghood, the Wolf, Jack the Giant Killer, Rapunzel, and other fairy tale characters who are attempting to realize wishes of their own. The musical is at moments hilariously funny and then heartwrenchinly poignant and tender:
